INFORMAL TIME OF HYMN SINGING

BRINGING IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST by the Acolytes

WELCOME AND PARISH NOTES

CLIP BOARD MINISTRY FOR SEPTEMBER

*GATHERING WORDS

One:..........Called to lead a life that is worthy,

we gather as God's people.

All:..........Whatever roads we walk, whatever waters
we have passed through, we share one baptism.

One:..........Called to model lives of service, we share in the building up of Christ's Body.

All:..........Our backgrounds are different, our habits vary,
but we share a common faith in Christ.

One:..........Called to be people of peace and gentleness,
we offer these gifts to all of God's creation.

All:..........Though each of us is unique and precious to God,
our hearts beat as one with hope.

One:..........Lead a life worthy of the One who has called you
by one faith, one hope, one baptism.

All:..........We gather as God's family at the Table prepared for us,
to be fed by the Bread of life.

Sanctuary” Sing Twice

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Though we labor for food that perishes, Lord,

you will give us bread that endures forever.

Though we do what displeases you,

you will show us mercy;

you will forgive our sin.

Though the truth

may be hidden in darkness, Lord,

you will teach us wisdom.

Teach us; feed us; forgive us, we pray. Amen.

WORDS OF PROMISE

Pastor:..........Seeing our brokenness, God puts us back together; knowing our hunger for hope, God feeds us with Christ; hearing our prayers, God chooses to forgive us. Hear the Good News: we are forgiven.

All:..........Thanks be to God!

*DOXOLOGY....................#94

Praise God from whom all blessings flow

Praise God all creatures here below: Alleluia! Alleluia!

Praise God, the source of all our gifts!

Praise Jesus Christ whose power uplifts!

Praise the Spirit Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION (In Unison)

O God, we humbly admit that we search so often for bread that perishes, rather than the bread of eternal life. We foolishly think that happiness and fulfillment can be attained from our own hands, rather than from your hands. We offer these gifts with the promise that you have already given us the bread of heaven. You are the Bread of Life. We come seeking to never be hungry or thirsty again. Amen.

We will be offering a totally gluten-free option during Holy Communion. The communion wafers contain no gluten, wheat, dairy or corn. They will be available at a serving station with a separate chalice of juice to avoid cross-contamination. We desire that the Table be open to all and hope this enables those who have an allergy to gluten to receive Communion safely and freely.

Teachers and helpers are needed for Sunday School, ages 3 through 12, in a One-Room Sunday School format, with music, crafts, skits storytelling, etc.. If you are able to help, or for questions, please speak with Kris Darrow, Dave Bassett or another member of the Education Committee. There will be a meeting on August 16 following the 10:00 service to review the new materials and format.

Today, we will be tying a Prayer Quilt for Betty Klinker. The Quilt will be available for your prayers and tying in the Fellowship Hall following both worship services. The purpose of Prayers & Squares is to promote prayer through the use of quilts. Our motto is: "It's not about the quilt; it's all about the prayers." Come, tie & pray.
