Jesus, Remember Me” Sing Three Times

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION & WORDS OF PROMISE

Loving God, at this time, we remember that going up to Jerusalem cost Jesus his very life. So we come before you, conscious of the way religious words and holy phrases can slip so easily from our lips and our hardened hearts. What do we really know of your mountainous truth, you rock-hard integrity, the depth of your suffering for love of us all? Forgive us for the shallowness of our faith and the ready excuses we make for going our own way and claiming it as yours. Turn us round again. Show us how to be open to your faithfulness and your freedom that we may live new lives and be bearers of the seeds of the Kingdom of Jesus. Amen.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,

that were a present far too small;

love so amazing so divine

demands my soul, my life, my all. Amen.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION (In Unison)

Blessed Lord, we are moved to be your faithful disciples. Like the palms laid long ago in honor of your Son, we present these gifts for your reverent design. We proclaim that your sovereign existence will transform the lives of all who believe in your Son, Jesus Christ. Hosanna in the Highest! Amen.

SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION.....................................................On insert

A Great Prayer of Thanksgiving for Palm Sunday

Morning by morning,
creation's voices join in praising you,
God of every goodness.
The forests form a festal procession,
the heavens reflect your glory's light.
Though we were formed by you,
we looked around at everything
sin and death had to offer,
and followed them through the world,
thinking they could protect us.
You gave prophets
the tongues of teachers,
to comfort our weariness
and teach us the way back to you,
but we turned our back on them.
When judgment did not
lead to redemption,
you sent Jesus to reach out in love,
to bring us home to you.

So with those who spread cloaks before you,
and those who are sustained by your love,
we join our voices, singing,

All: Holy, holy, holy, God of enduring love.

From every part of creation come glad songs.

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is the One who comes in humility and hope.

Hosanna in the highest.

Holy are you, Sustainer of the weary,
and blessed is Jesus Christ, your Love become human.
He emptied himself of glory,
to be filled with our broken hopes and hearts.
He chose the path of suffering love,
so that we could run through
the streets of the kingdomwaving branches of joy.
He walked the sin-cold stones
into the tomb which could not hold him,
so we could join our voices together,
"Hosanna! Hosanna! He is risen!"
As we journey through Jerusalem and beyond,
as we struggle with death, loss, and grief
we would ponder that mystery we call faith:

All: In trust, Christ died.

In joy, Christ was raised to new life.

In hope, Christ will come again.

Here, at this Table,
we would receive the gifts
of the bread and the cup,
and your Spirit which anoints us with peace.
Nourish us with the Bread of hope,

that we might go into
the brokenness of our world;
fill us with the cup of grace,

so the weary would discover us
standing by their side;
fill us with the overflowing joy
of the good news,
so we might sing forever
of your heart's desire
for justice and peace for all people.

Then, on that final morning,
when we gather for the Feast of the Lamb,
when we are seated with those
who shouted their hosannas,
and we will join our voices in eternity's anthem,
giving our thanks to you forever and ever,
God in Community, Holy in One,
we bless you, as we lift our prayer, saying,
Our Father . . . Amen.

Beginning today, we will be offering a totally gluten-free option during Holy Communion. The communion wafers contain no gluten, wheat, dairy or corn. They will be available each time the Eucharist is served at a serving station in individual paper cups and with a separate chalice of juice to avoid cross-contamination. We desire that the Table be open to all and hope this enables those who have an allergy to gluten to receive Communion safely and freely.

Maundy Thursday Worship 7:00 p.m. Gather around the cross-shaped, candlelit tables in Fellowship Hall as we remember together the last night of the life of Christ. Holy Communion, a time of reflection - Stones To Bread - The Final Stone, a choral anthem and scripture will be included in this lovely, quiet and inspirational worship service.

Cereal Sunday - April is a shower of cereal for OASIS. As you shop this month, pick up a box or two. Join us in building a tower of cereal in Fellowship Hall!

IT'S BEEN A ROUGH WINTER!
Record snowfall, boiler failure, broken pipes, increased utility bills. Put this along with the weather causing decreased attendance and offerings on a few Sundays and our expenses are getting well ahead of our offering income. Take a look at the display board in the fellowship hall and grab an envelope. Prayerfully consider an extra gift to your church, of whatever amount you are able, to help offset the deficit we are experiencing. Help get your church out from under the mounting pile of unexpected & increasing expenses.

You still have opportunity to come and join in a gathered Community Choir for the Community Good Friday Service on April 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cadillac Christian Reformed Church. The choir will be under the direction of Dave McMahon. Practice will be on Wednesday, April 8 at our church at 8:00 p.m. They will be singing two anthems. All are invited to share in this choir.

Blood Drives will be at Temple Hill Baptist Church, 1601 W. Division, on Monday, April 6 from 1:00 - 6:45 p.m. & Tuesday, April 7 from 11:15 a.m.-5:00 p.m.. You must be at least 17 years old, at least 110 pounds and you must have photo ID or donor card to donate.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. when the AMEN Chorus will be in concert at our church

You are cordially invited to the final Cadillac Area Lenten Breakfast sponsored by the Cadillac Area Ministerial Association on Wednesday, April 8 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. at Cadillac Revival Center on Plett Road just south of 13th Street.. Community Good Friday Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Clock Tower (Mitchell & Cass) or 7:00 p.m. at the Cadillac Christian Reformed Church. We will be celebrating the Stations of the Cross - those places where Jesus journeyed on the first Good Friday. Two options: You may gather at the Clock Tower at 6:00 to begin your journey up Cass Street to the Cadillac Christian Reformed Church. Along the way, the crowd will stop periodically to celebrate one of the first seven stations with prayer, reflection and song. At 7:00 p.m., when the group reaches the C.R.C. church, those who are waiting there will join in as we continue our journey with Jesus. A gathered Community Choir will sing, the last seven stations will be celebrated with visuals, scripture, readings and music. Plan to attend this meaningful time of worship.
