UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION Eternal Maker, how often we forget that we all are created by you and in your image. Focusing on the surface, we created distinctions based on race or class. Influenced by public opinion, we often make friends or share the depths of our faith only with those whose lives seem appealing. Loving God, you overlook the lines we draw between us, seeing all as your beloved children. Do not leave us to our shallow vision. Give us new eyes to see each other, that we might live your law of love without partiality, sharing the good news of faith with all. Amen.
WORDS OF PROMISE God is always with and for us. God is always there to forgive us, comfort us, heal us, restore us and guide us. Know now that God’s love is being poured out upon us right now in this moment of time. Amen.

P.E.T. Challenge - A very generous couple in the church has challenged the congregation to support the Mission Loose Plate P.E.T. project. They have given a check to cover the purchase of one PET and, if the congregation will provide enough for three more PETS, this couple will add another PET to their donation! P.E.T. is a hand-cranked three-wheeled trike that offers someone in a underdeveloped country who has lost the use of their legs the gift of mobility. Check out the display PETS and the information in the narthex and then help us meet this challenge!
On Wednesday, September 9, you have an opportunity to join with other Christians across our greater community in praying for our schools. Churches of the Cadillac Area Ministerial Association have taken a school to especially hold in prayer. Our church will be specifically praying for Cadillac High School. We will gather near the front entrance of the school at 7:00 p.m. to share in prayer. Our prayers will be for a good school year for all the students and staff and for safety and protection for all. It would be wonderful to have a couple of dozen persons come and pray together. Plan to come and share in praying for our young people & our school staff.
Plan to attend the Musical Variety Show presented by the Patriot Choir on Thursday night, September 10 at 6:30 p.m. in our sanctuary. They will be offering lots of fun acts as well as some of their large repertoire of songs. This community based choir practices in our building each Thursday and offers their music both in our area and around the state. They always present a fun and wonderful time of entertainment. A Bake Sale will also be held. Plan to come and enjoy this show.
Our UMW Holiday Bazaar, scheduled for November 7, is in need of like new (not broken) jewelry, like new shoes and purses, like new (not soiled or dirty) toys and dolls, useable fabrics, cookbooks and like new used books, vintage, popular books and books from the years 2000 to 2009.
