PRAYER HYMN....................#2188

The Family Prayer Song”

UNISON PRAYER

Loving God,

like a mother
sending her children
off to school each day,
you watch us walk down
the streets of the kingdom,
keeping an eye on us
while giving us freedom,
trusting and believing
we will bear fruit;
like a mother
gently rocking her babe,
you let us snuggle into your lap,
as you softly lullaby us
with songs of grace and hope;
like a mother
warmly welcoming her neighbor
over for coffee and a chat,
you invite us into your heart,
so we may whisper to you
of our deepest longings.
God in Community, One in Abiding Love,
hear us as we pray . Amen.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the special

women in our lives! We have a

sweet treat for you all this morning.

Thanks to everyone's prayerful giving toward those extra/unexpected expenses that built up this winter, we have received over $4,000 in extra income to offset the deficit. If you are still considering an extra gift, feel free to place it in the offering at any time during the year. As you all well know, the bills never stop coming. Spring is here - it's time to move forward into summer. Your direct support of other budgeted church programs (Camp scholarship, VBS, Sunday school...) always helps to free up monies in the general fund for the routine monthly bills. For example, the Camp Scholarship offerings this year have exceeded $2,200 and will help us send many kids to camp without diverting money for that investment from the general fund. The "Extra/Unexpected Expenses" display board in the fellowship hall will be gone, but church programs, and the need for your support of them, will continue. Thank you so much for your prayerfully considered generous giving. Finance Committee

Mercy Hospice Annual Candlelight Memorial Service, fellowship and dinner will be held on Tuesday, May 19, at 6:00 p.m. here at the church. This Memorial Service is a time of reflection and remembrance and is intended to celebrate and honor those who have impacted our lives so deeply. For more info or to RSVP call Brad Center, Mercy Hospice, at 779-9550.

Dear Friends: You showed me the face of God each time you reached out, shared your kindness, and supported me in ways you will never know. I want to thank Pastor Tom for all his visits from Munson to Mercy to Blodgett Hospital. A special thanks to Joyce & Jerry Seward and Marie Rennie for their kind acts of love, where no task was too big or too small. And a special thank you to everyone who sent cards and prayed for the return of my health, which offered me hope time and again. Dianne Moore

Brenda Benson invites you to a Family Dinner and Concert with Silent Auction at First Baptist Church on Sunday, May 17 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the Church Commons. Donations received will go towards Brenda’s August mission trip to 11 different countries.

Nick Myers, freshman at Cadillac Junior High School and member of our congregation, will be playing his Upright Bass as background music during Coffee Hour this morning and May 24. Nick offers his playing to help fund his upcoming travels with the Blue Lake International Youth Symphony Orchestra. This orchestra will be traveling for five weeks throughout Europe, and then an additional week throughout the Mid-West United States. Nick hopes you enjoy his music, and anyone moved to make a freewill donation to help support his endeavor will be greatly appreciated!
