And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Jesus, you ask us and now we answer. You are the Christ, we say. Let us know you as you are. Let

PRAYER HYMN....................#415 “Take Up Thy Cross” vs. 1 and 2
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION Loving Christ, you came into our world that we might set our minds on heavenly things. We confess that we easily lose focus, turning our gaze to human concerns and earthly matters. We are quick to declare who others say that you are, but are slow to make public our own declarations of faith. Help us have Peter’s vision to see you as our Messiah, but save us from personal agendas that seek to create you anew in our image of what a savior should be. Teach us to follow the hard road, that others may meet us on the journey, and through us, discover you. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE Receive the healing love of Jesus. Give your lives to his service by serving and caring for others. Be at peace. Amen.

P.E.T. Challenge - A very generous couple in the church has challenged the congregation to support the Mission Loose Plate P.E.T. project. They have given a check to cover the purchase of one PET and, if the congregation will provide enough for three more PETS, this couple will add another PET to their donation! P.E.T. is a hand-cranked three-wheeled trike that offers someone in a underdeveloped country who has lost the use of their legs the gift of mobility. Check out the display PETS and the information in the narthex and then help us meet this challenge!
