PRAYER HYMN....................#2203

In His Time”

UNISON PRAYER

We long to worship
in high-vaulted cathedrals,
our songs and prayers
echoing the deep sighs
of the saints cradled in the stone.
Yet you, unpredictable Creator,
you compose a canticle
with the gentle drops of rain
on a tin-roofed shelter.

We long to worship
beside the high and famous,
rubbing shoulders with those
clothed in power, wealth, renown.
But you, surprising Redeemer,
you we find sitting at the gutter,
huddling in the shadowed doorway,
curled up on a sidewalk grate
with your long-lost kin.

We long to worship
with drums pounding
and the amps turned up
so high our hearts tremble.
And you, fanciful Spirit,
you would draw us into
that still, silent, sacred
space called peace.

We have come longing to worship you, God in Community,

Holy in One, be with us, we pray. Amen.

Summoned by the God Who Made Us/Sing a New Church”

Sing a New Church

Summoned by the God who made us

Rich in our diversity,

Gathered in the name of Jesus,

Richer still in unity:

Chorus:..........Let us bring the gifts that differ

And, in splendid, varied ways,

Sing a new church into being,

One in faith and love and praise.

Radiant risen from the water,

Robed in holiness and light,

Male and female in god’s image,

Male and female, God’s delight:

Chorus

Trust the goodness of creation;

Trust the Spirit strong within.

Dare to dream the vision promised,

Sprung from seed of what has been.

Chorus

Bring the hopes of ev’ry nation;

Bring the art of ev’ry race.

Weave a song of peace and justice;

Let is sound through time and space.

Chorus

Draw together at one table

All the human family;

Shape a circle ever wider

And a people ever free.

Chorus

On Sunday mornings during worship, we have a variety of options for our children.

At the 8:30 worship, staffed child care is available for infants through 3 & 4 year olds.

At the 10:00 worship, there is a staffed nursery for young children through 3 & 4 year olds. Following the Time With the Children, there is Sermontime- a time of learning for those in kindergarten through second grade in our 1st & 2nd grade classroom. Children 3 and 4 years old may go to the nursery during Sermontime.
