Lord, we gather here this morning with lives that are filled with activity and movement. We rush from one thing to another as though we are going to run out of time to accomplish everything. Help us to let go of the hectic times and the stresses and find our rest in you. Relax our spirits and refresh our souls. Remind us that there will always be things to do and places to go, but that we need the rest of spirit that you provide. Amen.

An all women Alcoholics Anonymous group meets here at the church every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.. For further information, please contact Jane Whitney.

Methodist Men will be having their regular monthly meeting on Thursday,
July 23, at 6:00 p.m.. We will meet in the Corbin Room for our traditional and legendary potluck supper followed by a business meeting, devotions and a video program "Archways To Our Past," the story of Michigan's historic highway bridges. Dave Bassett is our host and is planning on a good turnout. Also, the men have selected Saturday, August 15, for our night at the "Old Ballpark." Stay tuned for details.

Our Men’s Chorus is planning to sing on Sunday, August 9 at both worship services. Randy Myers will be directing; Gloria Fountain will be accompanying. Love to sing, come on along. The group will practice at the church on Wednesday, August 5 at 7:00 p.m.. Questions or for more information, call Jack Fountain.

The Evangelism & Membership Committee has posted a sign up sheet for Sharing Gifts, Talents & Skills on the bulletin board in the hallway. Please consider sharing your gifts and talents with someone who wants to learn.

The Mission Committee has a large object to pick up from a Holland, MI, address. If anyone with a van or pickup is going that way before next Sunday, July 26, please contact Clara Handy.

Our July food collection will be going to the King’s Storehouse. We are requesting peanut butter, jelly/jam and saltine crackers. Thank you for your generous donations.

Dorcas Circle will travel to Bev Campbell’s cottage for their Tuesday, July 21 meeting. We will gather in the church parking lot at 10:00 a.m. and car pool to Houghton Lake. Urgently Needed for Vacation Bible School. Please label VBS & leave items in Fellowship Hall: men’s shirts for paint smocks, checkbook boxes or other similar boxes with lids, shoelaces, especially long ones (may be gently used), yarn of any color or weight, magazines-especially nature, skiing, outdoor sports.

Filled shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child can be left in the large wrapped box, which is near the display of empty wrapped shoe boxes, outside of Judy’s office. Thank you for your participation.
