Bringing in the Light of Christ

Welcome, Parish Notes & September Clip Board Ministry

*Call to Worship

One:..........God is unfolding a new moment, an hour of blessing,

a time of healing, a day of beauty. It is the gift offered

to you, filled with ordinary moments made holy

by attention to

the movements of Grace,

the tremors of Love,

the ripples of Hope,

the whispers of Peace.

This time is for you.

Let us worship the Lord.

*Opening Hymn....................#158

Come, Christians, Join to Sing”

*Sharing the Love and Peace of Christ

If you have a prayer joy or concern to be shared during the Prayer

Prayer Hymn....................#641

Fill My Cup, Lord” Sing Twice

Unison Prayer of Confession

God, if we carry the name Christian, we are signs of Christ's presence in the world. Yet we confess that we do not always live as joyous, loving and hopeful people in our homes, our workplaces and our communities. We get so caught up in the values of this world that we do not seek to discern your will for our lives. By your grace and forgiveness, renew us in mind, body and spirit, that we will witness and work for Christ wherever you have placed us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Pardon
One:..........When we reach out in faith, God comes near in love.

When we humbly seek forgiveness, God responds

with mercy and grace.

In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and loved.

All:..........Glory be to God.

CALL TO PRAYER

When we could be revived by God's grace, we find ourselves fearing God's judgment, doubting God's joy in us, worrying that God has turned away from us. Let us come to the One who heals us and calls each of us by name. Let us pray,

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION
You hold nothing back from us, Amazing God, yet we are determined to cling to what we have accumulated. You invite us to set aside our old ways, and walk with you, but unknown paths fill us with fear.

Have mercy on us, Bread of Heaven. We come to the Table of grace and hope, not for our personal satisfaction, but for the joy of recognizing the One who calls us to new life, and for the grace to share this joy with everyone we meet. This we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Silence is kept

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
One:..........Receive these words of assurance:

God loves us. God forgives us. God lifts us to new life.

All:..........Thanks be to God. Amen.
