Prayer Hymn….......….......#186

Alleluia”

1. Alleluia 2. He’s My Savior 3. Christ is Risen

Unison Prayer

God of amazing surprises and powerful love,
Your Easter victory is our sign of hope.
Your Easter triumph is our promise of new beginnings.
Your Easter alleluia is unexpected, undeserved and graciously welcomed.

We need your Easter–

The promise that dawn brings new possibilities,
The assurance that your love is stronger than death,
The hope that every day might be touched by Easter joy.

Our words seem too timid and our songs not loud enough to trumpet our joy, to express our alleluias. Hear the glad beat of our heart and the songs we long to shout, for you have brought us to life. May we feel the possibilities for living life surrounded by your powerful love and surprising grace. In the name of our Risen Lord. Amen.

God of hope, on this glad day we bring our gifts to you, asking that they bloom like Easter flowers, awakening your world to your gift of love. We give thanks for the dawn of your new day, for the rising of the Sun of righteousness, who fills the earth with light and life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Sacrament of Holy Communion

A Great Thanksgiving for Resurrection Sunday

One:….......Christ is risen!

All:….......He is risen indeed!

One:….......Let us celebrate this irrepressible life;

Let us open our hearts to the joy and wonder of infinite possibility,

of unquenched hope, of eternal resurrection.

All: We celebrate, we raise our voice and our hearts in worship and thanksgiving

to the God who lives.

One:….......Resurrection happened because Christ was first prepared to die.

Defying death, Christ refused to release his hold on life and love.

So now, as Jesus encouraged us, we choose to remember

so that we too can truly live.

All:….......Christ has died, but death does not have the final word;
Christ is risen, and Easter begins for us when Christ calls us by name.
Christ will come again and lead us into God's glory.

One:….......Pour out your Holy Spirit upon the Bread and the Cup, Resurrecting God,

and upon us who seek to be your children.

When we are done eating and drinking with the Risen Lord, send us forth

to feed the hungry. Served at the Table by the One who freed us from death,

we would go out to be servants of the poor and oppressed in our world.

Called to proclaim the good news of Easter, we would do so with our hands

and hearts, not just our lips. Through Christ, glory and honor, praise and

thanksgiving are yours, God of new life, with the Holy Spirit, in your holy

people, on this first day of the week and in all the days to come. Amen.

As people of the resurrection, let us pray together the prayer of all of Christ’s disciples:

The Lord’s Prayer….......….......#895

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, they kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses and we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

LIFTING AND SHARING THE BREAD AND CUP

We will be serving by intinction. You will receive a piece of bread which can be dipped into the cup and received. A gluten-free serving station will be available.

Please come by the center aisle and return by the side aisle.

PRAYER OF THANKS FOR CHRIST’S PRESENCE (in unison)
We thank you, O God, for your life, revealed in Jesus, renewed in resurrection and available to us now. Thank you for touching us again with your life through bread and wine; for joining our lives with yours through Jesus; and for renewing resurrection in our hearts through your Holy Spirit. Filled with life, we now offer ourselves to be life-bringers in the world. Touched by resurrection we pledge to resist death wherever we find it. Filled with hope we embrace the promise of eternity, and the call to make it known at every opportunity. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

*Hymn of Victory….......….......#2115

Christ Has Risen!”

*Commission and Blessing

One:….......Spread the message: Christ is alive!

Live the good news; our lives are renewed!

All:….......We have seen and heard the good news

and have been touched by the presence of Christ.

One:….......Share the word: God‘s peace is offered to all.

Rejoice in the promise that we shall triumph over death.

All:….......We will tell of our discoveries and witness to God’s surprising activity.

Christ is risen! Alleluia, Alleluia! Alleluia! Amen.

UNISON PRAYER

The women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.

No fears
No boulders
Nothing could stop them.

These women stayed with Jesus to the end.
Daybreak brought them back
to angels
who said to them,

“Why seek the living
among the dead?
He is no
longer
in this tomb.”

Christ,
let nothing,
stop us either,
seeking you, whom love
brought back to life in full. Amen.

The Loose Plate Offering for April will be given the Cadillac Area Ministerial Association for their chaplaincy program at Mercy Hospital. Pastor Ed Gilbert serves as CAMA chaplain. He feels his primary responsibility is to try and visit every patient. This is not so in every hospital. He has the opportunity to serve people from various congregations, but also those who do not have a church and those who are questioning, alienated or do not believe. Pastor Ed offers a non-anxious presence to patients, families & staff alike in hospital rooms, the surgical waiting room and the emergency room. Our gifts will help support his work on our behalf.

Our collection of non-perishable food and paper products will go towards the King’s Storehouse at First Baptist Church. We will collect the first two Sundays in April.
