Prayer of Thanksgiving for Christ’s Presence Thank you, God of our hearts, For this meal and the love it expresses; For your sacrifice and the intimacy with you that it brings; For your commitment to reconcile the world to yourself. We have shared the bread and the cup, We have experienced the love and compassion of God, And we have remembered the mission of Jesus, which we are called to continue; May your love, friendship and undeserved acceptance fill us, change us and inspire us that the world may grow into a place where all of God’s children know they have found a home for all eternity. Amen.

*SHARING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
PRAYER HYMN....................#2007 “Holy, Holy, Holy” Sing Twice
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION The disciples at the lakeshore experienced the power and presence of the Holy One, and were overcome with a sense of their own limitation and unworthiness. Often, we, too, are awed and frightened by the possibilities to which our God is calling. And so we pray:
When you call us to the deeper waters of understanding and engagement with our world, and we are afraid to follow: God, have mercy.
We trust only our old patterns and ways and resist your call to begin afresh, Christ, have mercy.
When service in your name overwhelms us, and we fail in faith and confidence in you, God,
have mercy. WORDS OF PROMISE Friends, in Christ our loving God offers us understanding and forgiveness– we hear the reassurance: “Do not be afraid!” and find new strength to follow into the future.
