Clip Board Ministry for May

*Worship Alert
One:..........Faith never comes easy. Thomas, a faithful disciple of Jesus, doubted the post-Resurrection appearance and needed to see Jesus for himself.

All:..........How we are like Thomas!

We sometimes think we need to see in order to believe!

One:..........How blessed are the ones who, never having seen,

have come to believe.
All:..........Open our hearts, Lord, this day to absolute faith in you,

that, although we have not seen the risen Christ, we may

believe fully in him. Amen.

Prayer Hymn....................#2196

We Walk By Faith”

Unison Prayer

God of resurrection power,

break through the locked doors of our certainty

to encourage our wonderings and our questions.

Break through the walls of our fears of others,

that we might make room for all at your table.

Break through our doubt and confusion,

that we might come to know your presence

more fully in our lives and in our world.

When we seek to judge ourselves and others

for disbelief and questions,

open the locked doors of our hearts

and give us the patience of the risen Christ,

in whose name we pray. Amen.

Prayer of the People

Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts!

Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

*Prayer of Dedication (in unison)

Gracious and loving God, you raised Jesus from the dead, disclosing forever your love for the world. Such a generous act not only showers us with grace, it begs a response. We respond with these gifts and our lives - praying your blessing on them. As you sent Jesus, so send us in the power of your Spirit to reveal your love in all we do and say. We pray in the name of our risen Lord. Amen.

*Closing Hymn....................#310

He Lives”

*Blessing and Benediction

One:..........Go forth into the world with your inner eyes on fire

with Jesus.

All:..........We go as those who have not seen and yet have come

to believe.

One:..........Go forth, knowing that the risen Christ leads the way.

All:..........We go as those who have not seen and yet have come

to believe.

One:..........Go forth; bold to act for love and justice.

All:..........We go as those who have not seen and yet have come

to believe.

One:..........Blessed are you who have not seen and yet have come

to believe. Amen.

PRAYER HYMN....................#2196

We Walk By Faith”

UNISON PRAYER

Holy God, Lover of your children:
the tomb has been opened, and we dance into your future.
Your life has dawned on us, and we surround you with our praise.
You reach out your hand, and lead us into joy.

Jesus Christ, Faithful Witness:
you gently open the locked doors
of our hearts and come in to be with us forever.
You breathe peace into our souls, so we may bring healing
to a troubled world.

Holy Spirit, Breath of Peace:
you show us our hearts, so we may give love to others.
You show us our hands, sending us to serve the needy.
You show us your hope, so we may live in your joy.

Holy God, Redeemer Christ, Sustaining Spirit,
who is, who was and who is to come, hear our prayer. Amen.
