God’s love for us is abundant and steadfast.

We are welcome in God’s presence!

Prayer Hymn....................#526

What a Friend”

Unison Prayer of Confession
We all have fallen short of the calling that God has placed upon us. We confess that we do not take our relationship with God as seriously as we should. We take too much comfort in the fact that generations before us have been important members of our church. Forgive us for taking you for granted, Loving God.
Hear our prayer. Amen.

Words of Promise

One:..........God hears the prayers of the humble and contrite heart and sees beyond our station in life. God sees beyond our family name and sees our innermost being, not for what it was or is but for what it can and will be once God’s grace takes our old life and old self and re-creates them into the very image of Christ.

All:..........Thanks be to God!

Prayer of the People

*Prayer of Dedication (In unison)

Gracious God, we offer our gifts as an act of extravagant faith. Bless this offering, that it might be a witness to your realm of forgiveness, justice and healing.

May this act of sharing embolden us to show great generosity

throughout the coming week.

In your many names we pray. Amen.

PRAYER HYMN....................#526

What a Friend”

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Your love comforts us, God of our lives.

In the midst of our rebellion, you love us still.

Your love also frightens us:

calling us to be bold;

calling us to walk into places of power and speak your truth;

calling us to weep without shame, in deep love and longing;

calling us to live anew in the life of Christ.

With your comfort, make us whole.

But do not stop challenging us,

even when we are fearful and timid. Amen.

WORDS OF PROMISE

One:..........God turns us around, opens our eyes, renews our faith, forgives our sins. We are truly blessed.

All:..........Thanks be to God!
