*Call to Worship One:..........We have been called the light of the world. All:..........Let us shine brightly in the midst of pain or confusion. One:..........We have been called a city set on a hill. All:..........Let us, like Jerusalem, lift our gates, lift our hearts, lift our voices in the worship of God, the Sovereign of hosts and the Savior of the world.
*Hymn of Praise....................#185 “When Morning Gilds the Skies”
*Sharing the Peace and Love of Christ
If you have a prayer joy or concern you would like shared during the Prayer of the People, please fill out a prayer card & hand it to an usher.
Prayer Hymn....................#206 “I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light” Vs. 1 and 2
Unison Prayer Creator of the Day, you rise before dawn to make breakfast for the poor, to water our parched hearts with the joy of grace, and to patch the potholes poverty has made in the streets of the kingdom.
You proclaim the mysteries of grace, Voice of Fulfillment, not with fancy words but in weakness, which gives strength to the weary in compassion, which offers the guest room of your heart to the homeless; in love, as you take off your coat, and place it around the shoulders of a shivering child.
You speak softly, Revealer of Wonders, using the alphabet blocks of grace and hope, so all can know the hidden heart of God; so all may know the words to proclaim the Light that has come into the world.

*Prayer of Dedication (in unison) You flavor our actions, O God, and illumine our minds. May the fruits of our labors nourish others. May the wisdom you give lead others to know Christ. May our lives be seasoned by service and the light of our good works bring glory to your name. We have received in abundance; may we serve without ceasing. Amen.
*Closing Hymn “We Are Called to Be God’s People”
One in heart and one in spirit, Sign of hope for all the race. Let us show how He has changed us And remade us as His own; Let us share our life together As we shall a-round His throne.
Taking His own task upon us, All His sacred words obey. Let us rise, then, to His summons, Dedicate to Him our all, That we may be faithful servants, Quick to answer now His call.
Standing firm for godly justice, Bringing evil into light. Let us seek the courage needed, Our high call to fulfill, that we all may know the blessing Of the doing of God’s will.
