As a Deer” Sing Twice

Unison Prayer

Life swirls around us, O Lord. So many things are happening in our lives, our neighborhoods, our country, and in your world. We can be so easily distracted and overwhelmed by the needs and difficulties. Remind us again that you are with us, offering compassion, strength, hope. Help us to place total trust in you as we offer our prayers for healing, comfort, and hope this day. Place your healing hand on our hearts and spirits and encourage us to rise and be strong in hope for the needs of others. Enable us to be partners in ministries of peace and justice in this world of darkness. Bring your light and power to us, for we pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

Prayer of the People, please hand it to an usher during the Prayer Hymn.

PRAYER HYMN....................#377

It is Well with My Soul”

UNISON PRAYER

O God, you come to us not in the chaos of the whirlwind,

not in the roar of the earthquake, not in the crackling heat

of the fire, but in the sound of sheer silence.

Quiet our minds, bring peace to our hearts and stillness to our bodies that we might meet you in that silence.

Help us to listen for your still, small voice.

Give us the courage to go wherever you lead us,

trusting that you will prepare the way.

We pray this in the name of our Companion on the journey,

Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Love In the Name of Christ continues to receive a considerable number of requests for a wheelchair ramp from callers throughout the two counties we serve. Our wonderful team of “ramp builders” from St. Ann Church • Cadillac have been building ramps for nearly 13 years, and are hoping that another “team” can be developed to meet the increased number of requests. If you have an interest in this rewarding opportunity, please contact Linda or Sue P. at the Love INC office, 779-1888 for more information.

This year’s School of Christian Mission will be held from Tuesday, July 20 through Friday, July 23 in Albion. Drive-In Day is planned for Saturday, July 24. Registrations are due by July 1. There is a brochure on the bulletin board in the church office with details and registration forms.

Methodist Men will be gathering for their June meeting on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Corbin Room. We are all looking forward to our "spectacular" potluck, followed by a short business meeting and devotions. He covers some of the issues that threaten the Christian church in our country today. Bring a dish to share and your own table service. Invite a friend or two and join us. George Towers will be our host, assisted by Paul, Ron and Don.

The Patriot Choir will be hosting their Summer Musical Show on Thursday, June 24 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in our sanctuary. They have prepared a variety of songs to share. Admission is only $5.00
